A White Ally Toolkit Introductory workshop for people in and nearby Ft. Myers who best time for a fun and practical training Saturday morning.
An interactive lecture (free) where Dr. David Campt will reflect on his many years of working on issues of race, reconciliation and history in Richmond Virginia and other places with difficult racial history.
Dr. David Campt , author or the Compassionate Warrior Boot Camp for White Allies, will discuss his reflections on the relationship between the being an affective anti-racism ally and the spiritual path.
The session will explain the RACE Method of managing a conversation and give participants multiple chances to practice it. This method highlights building of connection and trust before one tries to shift people’s opinion. It is based on a good deal of research in neurobiology and the science of persuasion.
The Going Deeper training helps participants understand the social and psychological dynamics that affect how they respond when racially problematic events happen in their preseence, and the steps they should take to be closer to the kind of ally that they want to be.
This training focuses on taking white anti-racism allies from exactly where they are on knowledge and awareness on racism to a much higher level of skill and confidence in engaging people who question whether racism matters.
